Stumbled upon your site & have really enjoyed it. Here's a pic of the Old Monticello bridge before it fell. Pic was late 1960's according to my dad.
I had the opportunity to drive down to this site while on vacation last month. I was surprised to see that the remains of the swing pivot pier remain, on their side, in the river. Also, the piers on each bank are intact.
I have to admit that you are right. If nothing else, Mr. Spamapiller is very good at pushing spam down the page.

wow i can remember actually driving across this bridge with my dad in the 1970's before it finally collapsed. i also remember hearing that there were actually some that drove across it the very same day it fell into the saline river,,seems like one of the piers were leaning somewhat and finally the mighty saline river pushed it over,i hear it made a loud crash that was heard from miles away.good to see the pics of it.
