Probably cut out and sold for scrap late at night by some random stupid hick. It's something that befalls a lot of steel bridges around here... I've seen railings and even crucial support beams cut out and stolen for scrap.
WOW. I love the new photos, really shows just how truly abandoned the bridge really is, heh.
Still there per Google Earth late 2012, apparently sans deck. Not in great shape, obviously. For logistical notes, this bridge is entirely in Jefferson County.
Anyone knowing anything about this bridge please comment.
Not convinced this one will survive the massive river flooding we've been having since December; might well lose a few across north AL before this is all over.
