One of two causeways over Mobile Bay - the other being the Battleship Parkway on US-90. However, the Jubilee Parkway is mostly on elevated bridge structures, while the Battleship Parkway is mostly causeway fill with only small bridges over various outlets.

The long-term future of the Jubilee Parkway is uncertain, due to the Mobile Bay Crossings Project, which is a proposed public-private partnership to replace the obsolete George C. Wallace Tunnel under the Mobile River in downtown Mobile (located directly west of the parkway) with a new high-level cable-stayed bridge. There is currently no fixed timeline for this project. However, it is not clear if significant changes or replacement of the Jubilee Parkway will be required as part of this project.
